Bulgarian Society For Animal Protection and Preservation

Hi!

I am trying to raise awareness and funds for the BSAPP which is run by a vet in Sofia and supported by a few like minded people including myself and a friend who lives in Bulgaria and is working on opening her own rescue centre.

The Bulgarian Society for Animal Protection and Preservation collects stray dogs (and cats), treats any injuries, castrates animals and then tries to find them suitable homes.

The charity was founded 8 years ago by Dr Stoyanov an Associate Professor and a vet of some 30 years based in Sofia, who still runs it and gives his vet care to all animals in the shelters free of charge, as he does for anyone unable to pay. He has so far funded all the work from his own pocket but now the charity aims to expand and take on a much greater workload, plus the charity aiming to aquire and equipe a mobile clinic to visit all areas in need in Bulgaria, treating any animals as necessary, carrying out a neutering, identification and vaccination programme and educating the local children, adults and some of the local vets in todays methods of animal treatment and welfare.
